Partnership Gwinnett Announces Winners of Imaginative, Innovative and Influential Awards

Gary Campbell of Hire Dynamics honored with Award of Excellence for contributions to the community

(GWINNETT- METRO ATLANTA) November 16, 2012— Community and economic development initiative, Partnership Gwinnett, announced the winners of its annual Awards today during the 2012 Partnership Gwinnett Community and Economic Development Summit. Recognizing one community leader and one company in each of the Imagination, Innovation and Influence categories, the awards honored efforts supporting economic progress, quality of life and/or educational opportunities in the County. The initiative also presented an Award of Excellence to Gary Campbell, Senior Business Development Manager, Hire Dynamics, for his leadership in, contributions to, and support of Gwinnett and its economic development services.

“I am honored to receive this prestigious award and serve in a growing and successful community such as Gwinnett County,” stated Campbell, who is a strong supporter of Partnership Gwinnett and an active leader in statewide initiatives including the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development, getting veterans back to work, Next Generation Manufacturing and leadership roles in Atlanta Metro Chamber, Supply Chain Logistics and Workforce development councils. “What We Do Matters!”

Eddie Owen, Founder of Eddie Owen Presents was recognized as the individual winner in the Imagination category for his vision and partnership with the City of Duluth to revitalize the Red Clay Theatre. Gwinnett Technical College was named the “company” Imagination award winner. Led by President Sharon Bartel’s vision, the college has become a model of workforce development and career-focused education in Georgia. Recent successes include the opening of the state-of-the-art Life Sciences Center and the establishment of the Life and Health Sciences Excellence Endowment Fund and Community Challenge Initiative through the support of the Hudgens Family Foundation.

“Gwinnett Technical College utilizes innovative learning environments to equip students to become future leaders and progressive and productive members of the community’s workforce,” stated President Bartels. “We support Partnership Gwinnett and its efforts to encourage educational opportunities as an effective way to develop a world class community.”

Created to award transformational programs, solutions or concepts, the individual Partnership Gwinnett Innovation Award recognized Jonathan Holmes, Founding Partner of Mighty 8th Media for his utilization of web design platforms, full-scale social media strategies and mobile applications to keep clients competitive. With the redevelopment of a 19,500-square-foot facility into a one-of-a-kind agriculture equipment and technology learning center that trains agricultural producers from one central location, AGCO Global was named the company winner in the Innovation category.

The Partnership Gwinnett Influence Award was presented to community and business leader Marsha Anderson Bomar, Senior Principal of Stantec and Duluth City Council member. In addition to her service on the Council, Bomar has been instrumental in numerous community efforts, including the creation of the United Way Women’s Leadership Council Chapter of WINGS and the L.E.A.D. program. Winner of the “company” Influence Award, 12Stone Church currently serves more than 13,000 at weekly worship services and partners with over a dozen local non-profit organizations in Gwinnett.
