German-based company to add 30 jobs at metro Atlanta facility
(GWINNETT- METRO ATLANTA) October 11, 2013 – Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development, local elected and appointed officials, and community and business leaders will join German-based Sortimo International to celebrate the expansion of its North American headquarters – Sortimo of North America, Inc. – in Gwinnett County later today. The expanded facility, located at 3055 Northwoods Circle NW, in the City of Peachtree Corners, is expected to house 30 new jobs and will serve as a pre-assembly and installation center to benefit clients in the metro Atlanta area.
A leading provider of van-racking solutions, Sortimo offers the lightest weight organizational system for trade vehicles and is the only crash-tested system in the industry. Through a partnership with Knapheide Manufacturing Company, Sortimo’s expanded facility will also be the national distribution center for the company’s new product line, “Sortimo by Knapheide,” which will service more than 240 Knapheide distributors throughout North America.
“This expansion marks an exciting time for our company; this facility will further enable us to provide service and products to our customers locally and nationally. Since establishing our North American headquarters here more than five years ago, Gwinnett County has proven to be an ideal launch pad for growing and expanding our products and customer base,” said Mahendra P. Srivastava Ph.D., President, Sortimo of North America, Inc.
“Gwinnett County is proud to continue to be home to Sortimo, and welcomes the expansion of their North American headquarters in Peachtree Corners,” stated Gwinnett County Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash. “The company’s innovative product offering, strong global presence, and growing market success make them a valuable asset to our community.”
“Sortimo’s decision to remain and expand in Peachtree Corners and Gwinnett is great news. This announcement confirms that the pro-business environment we seek to promote is facilitating growth and success in our community,” said Mayor Mike Mason, City of Peachtree Corners.
Headquartered in Bavaria, Germany, Sortimo represents yet another internationally based business to announce an expansion in Gwinnett within recent months – a testament to the County’s reputation as a global business hub in the Southeastern United States.
“We continue to see strong growth in our existing international businesses, and we keep adding more. Over the past three decades, Gwinnett County has leveraged its diversity and access to global markets to become a true hub for international companies seeking to expand their presence in the United States,” commented Troels Adrian, Senior Project Manager for Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development and Partnership Gwinnett.
